10-Minute Chia Seed Jam

Sometimes running out of a staple food item is the worst .. Like waking up on a Sunday morning to realize you’re completely out of coffee creamer .. And sometimes it opens the door to a super simple recipe creation that just might change your life forever!

Thats what happened when I woke up one day ready to make my go to breakfast of toast, jam, and eggs, only to realize there was no jam to be found in our house.

Luckily, we always have a freezer stocked with frozen fruit and a big bag of chia seeds to use in smoothies so I put those to work and made this delicious and so simple chia seed jam in just 10 minutes.

It was amazing on toast, but is also an awesome addition to a yogurt bowl with a little fresh fruit and granola added in!



  • 2 cups frozen mixed berries

  • 2 Tbsp honey

  • 2 Tbsp chia seeds


  • Heat berries in a medium sized saucepan over medium/high heat, stiffing frequently, until warmed throughout then mash berries with a fork to your desired consistency. (I did mine quite mashed but if you like a chunkier spread you can do less.

  • Stir in honey and chia seeds, then transfer to a jar or glass bowl and let sit in fridge for 10 minutes or more.

  • Store in an airtight glass container or jar in the fridge for up to one week.
